15 Months

Josh is 15 months old today! How the time flies. I can't believe how big he is. He has changed so much even since his first birthday. Josh understands so much of what we say now. I love it. He can say a lot of words... He says ball, dog, yes, no, book, shoes, momma, dadda, Dorothy(door...th..e),no dont, bob (bob the builder), water (wawa), bottle (baba), door, Josh, horse - I probably missed something, but those are the basics:) He loves animals and balls and he is a total people person. He loves vacations. He will throw a little fit on the way to the store but then on a road trip he hardly makes a peep. I swear it's like he knows we're going somewhere fun. He's never been the greatest eater but lately he's been eating much better and it shows!!! Much to my pleasure. This morning he drank a bottle, ate oatmeal and half of a little breakfast sandwich- that is A LOT for him He does love water though and LOVES his milk-baba's. He gets SO excited. He is finally sleeping through the night- when we're not on vacation. No more 2am parties. Thank Goodness. He is the sweetest little boy. He's very good at giving loves. He is so sweet and surprisingly careful with little babies. He likes babies a lot and likes to rub their hair. When we go over to other houses, he's often toting around a doll and a ball. He has learned in the last month how to go down the stairs- it took a while considering we don't have stairs. He loves to climb on our coffee table and couch. He climbs onto our shoe shelf and onto the couch. He give high fives and knuckles- my aunt taught him knuckles. He is good at cleaning up his things. He's thrown several things away in the last several months. The latest thing being our remote. He loves to clean the house. He is always getting into the broom and wants to help me sweep and vacuum. When I mop or if he drops something on the kitchen floor he gets out a rag- of course he knows where they are being as silly as he is- and starts rubbing the floor with it. A huge smile on his face. It is hilarious. He LOVES LOVES LOVES going outside. He wishes he could live out there and throws several fits a day when we can't go outside. They are similar to the fits he throws anytime his daddy goes anywhere without him. He LOVES LOVES LOVES LOVES LOVES his daddy and wants to be with him every second he's home. Wyatt can't even change his clothes after work without Josh throwing a fit.lol. He sure is opinionated and knows exactly what he wants. The first year he was very attached to me and Wyatt couldn't even feed him. Now he clings to daddy. He just barely started getting attached to his lion and blankets. This morning he refused to eat without his lion and he wanted to feed himself. Good thing it's wash day:) I love how passionate he is about everything. It drives me nuts sometimes- Wyatt says it's because Josh and I are so similar which is probably true- but I love my little boy so much. His stubbornness will someday be a very good thing. Sometimes I go in his room after he's fallen asleep and just watch him. His cute little self. I love that he's growing up and yet it makes me sad at the same time. I just want as much time with him as I can get. His cute little laugh and his hugs and kisses and smile that I love so much. If only time didn't go so fast and at the same time I love how he feels so big and is always learning how to do something new. I am so blessed to be his mother.

Easter Weekend

Easter Weekend was so fun!  It was so fun to have a child that can actually participate in the fun activities.  Saturday morning we went to a neighborhood Easter egg hunt. So fun!!!  12 eggs and a prize at the end.  Josh got this rocket that shoots in the air.  It's a tie between who likes it more- Dad or Josh.lol.

These are our Easter flowers.  At around 10pm on Saturday night, I decided I needed flowers for  Easter... So I went and got these:)

So I overdid it a little with the blocks.lol.

Easter Morning- Someone was a little grumpy.  This is when we finally got him to stop crying.  Poor kid.

Easter egg hunt around the house

Josh loves candy!!!

So I'm kind of a bum and we were almost late to church- so these are the only pictures I have rushing out the door.  I had another outfit picked out but it was FREEZING that morning and we had stake conference on Easter- so I decided to save his outfit for next week.

President's Day

Wyatt and I decided to visit Miranda and Justin for President's Day weekend.  Then Mara and Roger and Abby, Morgan, Garrett, Grant and Hallie all decided to come as well.  It turned out to be one of the best weekends/trips I've ever had!!!  We did everything.  We went to the park, shopped, went to the temple, went to the Water show on the strip, went to a movie, hung out and played games and of course ate lots of amazing food- made by Miranda. It was definitely my kind of trip. It was so hard to go home!!!  I just wanted to stay forever.  It was like memorial day all over again.  You want to cry when you're getting in the car to go home.  I think we might have to make it a tradition:)

Our Little Valentine

The week and a half leading up to Valentine's Day, Josh was sick.  Fever of 101 on and off.  Then I got sick on Sunday...  So we went in for his one year wellness check on Monday Feb. 13th.  Josh has two ear infections and I have strep.  Then Wyatt gets it...  This is bound to be interesting...  So I get the shot.  Josh gets the bubble gum medicine and Wyatt get's the pill.  All the same stuff. haha.  So I'm thinking we should postpone Valentine's Day until we're all feeling better.  TaDa!!!  Our medicine- boy do I love medicine kicks in and does wonderful things.  So instead of getting our babysitter's kids sick, we spent  our Valentine's Day yet again with our little Valentine.  It's becoming a tradition.  Wyatt as usual the wonderful husband- bought me these beautiful flowers:)  I LOVE flowers!!!  We got a HEART pizza from papa murphy's and the best part of all...  I got to watch the movie I rented a week ago for this very important date...  Leap Year.  Such a cute movie.  Needless to say. We had a great night:)  Thank goodness for modern medicine

Joshua is ONE YEAR OLD today!!!

Today is Joshua's first birthday!!!  I have been holding back tears all day so far and now I'm just bawling.  I can't believe he's already one. Time goes by so fast!!!  It seems like only a few weeks ago that I visited him in the NICU for the first time.  He was so tiny.  He is such a sweet little boy and I am so so so lucky to be his mother.  Wyatt teases me because Josh and I already have our moments.  We're a little too similar he and I but I love him with all my heart.  He's so cute running around the house growling and getting into things  His crying everyday when his daddy goes to work.  He loves people and attention and love.  He is so loving and always giving hugs and kisses and then running off to his next adventure.  I wish he could just stay this little forever.  His cute little brown eyes and funny facial expressions.  I feel like I don't remember the last year nearly enough.  I'm sure it'll only be worse someday when he's leaving for college and his mission.  I wish I could hold onto him a little longer, hug him a little more and just remember these moments forever.

My mom came for Josh's birthday and we had a little party for him.  He/We are so lucky to have all these amazing people who love and support us!  It was a crazy day.  We didn't have too much to do- but long story short,  I accidentally turned some of my mom's hair a purple-y color and we had to fix it in time for the party.lol. Quite the experience.  It's back to it's normal beautiful color.  Thank goodness.  Thanks to my sister Sarah's help in putting almost everything together while I fixed my mom's hair- we were ready in time for the party:)  My mom went home this morning.  I was so grateful to have her here.  I have the most wonderful mother in the world!!!  I am more and more amazed the older I get, at how my mom has done the things she's done.  She is incredible and it was so wonderful having her here.  I'm so sad she had to go home.  We had such a fun time though.  So much of our family came to the party making it a blast!!!  My mom, Sarah, Ryan, Roger, Mara, Morgan, Riley, Talia, Garrett, Kelly, Hallie, Courtney& Rich and their adorable kids, Jenny Laura and Christy.  It was a blast!!!

The first real cake I've ever made.  I was so nervous with the amount of time we had, but it turned out to be so so so easy!!!  I don't think I'll ever do one this tall again though...

Josh's animal cake!!!

Adorable cake that my sister Sarah made for Josh's birthday.  So Cute!!!  She is so so so great at things like this!!!

He just wanted to pull all the animals off the cake

As long as he was holding onto an animal and had that huge cake in front of him, he was happy happy happy and didn't make a peep in that highchair.
The truck Roger and Mara gave him.  He loves it!!!  He was so sad when they had to take it away to open it for him!!!
Thomas the train set from Rich and Eileen.  He was dying to get his hands on this thing!!!  It's battery powered and he just thought it was the coolest thing ever!!!

Grandma Curran sent him the cutest little book, piano and musical lion.  He carries that lion around the house for half the day because it sings twinkle twinkle little star.  That is his favorite song so far.  Grandma Heathcote got him some adorable plaid pants and TOMS:)  So cute!!!  I can't wait for him to wear them!!!  They're still a little too big.  It'll be perfect though, cause they'll fit around the time his old ones die.  He's so sad to have his grandma gone.  It was nice for her to be able to spend some one on one time with her.  He sure loves his Grandmas and cousins!!!
